A Film Director’s Bilingual Website

Most multilingual websites are created as different versions of the entire site and the user can only see one language at the time. For many smaller sites, this is not necessarily the most interesting way to present content. For film director Wong Men Hoi, his nationality is made evident by combining English and Chinese text – instead of separating the languages.

One of my favourite plugins for WordPress is The Future is Now. Both Club Norway in Shanghai and in Beijing have event sites that are really easy to maintain. Planned events are posted on the front page and are automatically archived when the event’s date has passed.

When I at 14 had to pick a third languange, I could choose between German and French. Today, schools in Norway are starting to offer classes in Chinese. This brochure contains general information about learning Chinese, both for kids in school and adults.

I’ve recently joined a wushu club and have started training some taiji. This silhouette is actually my coach from Beijing Sports University. I made a chart that explains the different events in the upcoming Norwegian championship. And before you ask: No, I am not competing. :-)

This is post #100 here at crayoncrisis.com and it was time for a relaunch. My blog has been wearing a simple, modified White as Milk, but is now all grown up with a brand new theme of it’s own. I’m not quite finished with it yet, so bear with me if something looks wonky. I wanted to publish now anyway.

Thanks to Rashid Akrim who made this handmade font for me to use. And he made it for you too! So download it now and play around — like I did in my new header.

I have been using this blog for almost a year and am getting more comfortable with making and posting my stuff. Which means that from now on, the comments are turned back on! Feel free to comment in either English or Norwegian — I would really love to hear from you.
